- Back in '89 I build an acoustic emission data acquisition system for
- monitoring experimental LNG bottles which monitored a rack of detectors
- we built. It used an A2500/30. The *typical* ISR response time (as
- measured by the earliest address set in the box after the interrupt
- was set) was about 30 microseconds. It was writing double-buffered
- data to a quantum 80MB disk as fast as we could arrange - typically
- around 10MB datasets per run. The longest response time I ever recorded
- with disk, etc. running was about 250 microseconds. The datasets were
- timestamped by hardware and software so it gave a pretty good picture
- of the behavior of the system (and agreed with the logic analyser).
- The processing software was a predecessor of the DataWeb, and yes,
- the system is still in use...
